The tool box drawer spacers Must be made with precision in order to achieve an even 1/16" gap all around the drawer front.
YASER!
The groove must 1 15/16" from the bottom of the spacer to the top (of the Groove)
Proper layout and trying out our test cut is the only way to achieve perfection.
Don't forget measuring off your test cut.
If you choose to machine your Maple Glide first be sure it fits snug.
The glide is 11/16" wide and sits in a 3/8" deep groove
The glide is 5/16" thick and is 1 15/16" from the bottom of the spacer to the top of the glide.
The Spacer is 2 3/8" tall so it can stand up in the 3" drawer cavity
Crosscut them to about 8 1/2" to fit inside
There should be 3/4" left behind the front from the side of the drawer opening to the inside of the case. The 11/16" glide center's the drawer and leaves a 1/16" gap on either side.
Rodrigos' sixth sense spotted glue inside the drawer cavity.
Be sure to clean it out or the spacers wont sit flush.
