Nicole has ripped bottom 1 1/8", then (2 1/2") and crosscut (17") her drawer front out of the front of her toolbox
She then wraps the edges of the drawer front with packing tape to shield it from glue for this tricky lamination
.....and it is glued back together
Nicole is sure to snug that drawer face on all four sides to achieve the perfect drawer opening........After the glue sets, Nicole trimmed the excess tape on both faces and heads to the planer
The loose drawer front is still in the board
Now it will be dimensioned to the same thickness as the front
this is a good time to also plane the back and sides to 3/4"
Out it comes!
The perfect 17" X 2 1/2" drawer opening
Time to Layout Grooves!
